Contrary to the claims in a highly popular recent biography, Tasno is not an orphan, nor has he ever been a slave. Mystery does surround the circumstances of his adoption by a human couple in Kor Vella. Tasno's parents refuse to discuss it, and Tasno himself shows little interest in investigating the matter. As near as anyone can tell, Tasno is about 95 standard years old.
Tasno is proprietor of "The Nexian", the cantina in Nexus, Corellia. Neither this, nor his membership of the most popular band in the Outer Rim has been as big a hit with the ladies as he had imagined. He abuses Trandoshans whenever he thinks it won't get him killed.
